Haze 06:28
In the middle of the night, standing in the city Your mind sits wide open like some sort of passing dream The cat's calling you now Shadows on the wall hint at offerings There's nothing left for me or you now Color drips out of 1,000 dead television screens "I walk the shadows" I work for the broken land ("Don't turn the light on. don't touch a thing.") I walk in shadows -- cemetery streets you're on have doubts. There's nothing left for you Your currency is brilliant somnolence "I want to shake the wall" No reason to wish you well; Wishing back and forth again One night over One fell over You pulled over Cause you're my friend at the ending One night won't set you loose I was sitting in the back seat, I was staring at a stranger; held her in my arms We were driving past a factory A scent of danger, No aces were in my palms I was sitting in the back seat, I was staring straight into a wicked screen I was coming up with empty Color drips out of a million computer streams SIT DOWN LOCKED AND LOADED Sit around you wish you exploded "Relax, pass the weed, man" Hold on, run from policemen Its the night you ran in the parking lot Its the night you said you pretend you forgot "Relax, remember to breathe, man" (Suffer in confusion) One night won't set you loose, no. One night won't set you loose no. (this is not where it goes, this is not where it goes, this is not where it goes, this is not ....)

Freestyle north, I'm over it now Nothing is left for me to do I can't find my map I traded it once Searching around for something that's new And you trace lines with your fingertips They point like antennas, their delirious Your eyes trace stars under evening clouds You sink in the backseat and out of your gown I'm on a map I'm out of my head I'm over and under the things that you said Can't sort it out Lost inside the changing summertime We drive all night just to feel something Your hands reach out into the pouring rain You look up and you laugh a bit I don't know why you're mysterious Speak to me with bright red lips Whisper code words that don't exist Move us both into the express Glow like gold, you're the empress I am alive when I'm touching your skin I am in time when I live in your sin We might collapse, there is nothing to do There is nothing around for us to look forward to.

Spin 05:51
I could close my eyes and watch the clouds with you We could act surprised as all the flowers bloom I could walk in thought under the autumn moon We could dream a lot and fall in love too soon Do you really always doubt? I could spend the night and watch the earth with you We could blend the light that comes from falling moons I could win a lot and hope the timing's true We could spin our thoughts and fall in love too soon Do you really always doubt? All the times and all the seasons All the signs and all the reasons I see your face reflecting off the autumn moon I see your face reflecting off the autumn moon Do you really always doubt?

When I see that lonesome prairie Always going round the bend Her silent voice it keeps on laughing Never will I see your face again Lonesome prairie ... Do you call yourself an angel? Do you see it when it spins? Her silhouette it keeps on laughing Never will I see your face again Lonesome prairie ... I wanna go around the bend one time again Two times you swore to me that we would see each other's faces laughing Oh lonesome prairie ...

Who Are You? 06:05
Who are you, what have you done? Who are you, what have you done? Who are you, what have you done? Who are you, what have you done (to me and to my wife)?

Outer Space 04:32
look at your face you send me into outer space behind the wheel lies the different things we will feel

Admire 05:29
Settling down in a city Feeling betrayed by desire Settling down in a city You are the one I admire Walking along after midnight Feeling the glow from the fire Walking alone under streetlights You are the one I admire Settling down in the city Feeling the buzz of desire Settling down in the city You are the one I admire

If the shoe fits wear it Cinderella motherfucker She's the queen of it all She's the queen of the whole damn mall Like a rat caught in a maze Every minute there's a sucker She's in love with it all She's in love with everything If the key fits use Unlock one door, then lock the other Run it away from it all Anything just to not feel small Find yourself catching a break Before you run and duck for cover She's in love with it all, until the truth spoils everything You have to see it to believe it Stares right down your face Reaching for your open eyes Get back to the original place If the shoe fits wear it Cinderella motherfucker Here's the thing of it all Everyone wants to watch kings fall Like a rat caught in a maze Every minute there's another I'm the king of it because I spoil everything You have to see it to believe it Stares right down your face Reaching for your open eyes The moment that you fall from grace .... ... .. . . . ( watch it dissolve ) . . . .. ... .... (run away from this place, you have no seconds ....)

about

Influenced by a Nietzsche quote (“Mankind is a dangerous crossing”), current events, and personal lives, Portland based band Souvenir Driver continues their evolution of psych/gaze into darker, moodier, and murkier territory.

"When the more than 8-minute groovy closer Glass Slipper (The Queen) comes to an end you’ll push the repeat button without any hesitation as, just like me, you’ll be tempted to discover every layer, every twist, every hook, every lick, every moment and every line of these terrifically arranged en delightfully orchestrated songs. This band knows exactly what imposing tunes need, how to construct them and how to turn them into appealing aural pearls that impact your hungry ears. ‘A DANGEROUS CROSSING‘ is an arresting achievement!"
TURN UP THE VOLUME

"There’s a sense of a band interested in enquiry, evolution, and the pursuit of the authentic self. Tracks bleed into one another. And the expanse of the album is ambitious ... Guitars crash, distort and dissolve like a floor that’s fallen out from beneath a moral high ground. It’s compelling stuff."
POPBOLLOCKS

"By the track’s mid-point (Haze), there’s a fond likeness to Television/Tom Verlaine. It’s a great start to a very stellar album"
